Laya — decision model
An open-source, non-autoregressive System 1 decision model from Convai Innovations, released September 2026. It classifies text and returns calibrated probabilities. Apache-2.0, self-hostable. This site is about this one.
LayaAir — game engine
An HTML5 game engine from Layabox, used for browser and mini-game development. Different domain entirely: rendering, physics, asset pipelines. If you were looking for engine documentation, you are in the wrong place.
Layla — travel assistant
A conversational assistant focused on travel planning. Unrelated to either of the above, and the spelling differs by one letter — which is exactly why search results overlap.

Why the confusion is worth documenting
Name collisions cost people time, and they also cause a specific failure mode in AI-assisted work: a model summarising "Laya" from mixed sources will blend game-engine documentation with decision-model benchmarks and produce something confidently wrong.
If you are writing about any of these projects, state the full name and the organisation on first mention. It takes four extra words and prevents the entire problem.
